There is no way we can help children learn to wonder, if we do not give them direct experiences with the miracles and blessings of nature.
Pooh Corner is owned by our very own passionate nature loving Norwegian Karl Moriggi. We base our daily routines around the Scandinavian love of nature and the outdoors. In the not-so-distant past, kids ruled the country’s woods and valleys ? running in packs, building secret forts and tree-houses, playing hide and seek behind tall grass. Most of us grew up in a suburb or in a city and spent a lot of time playing outside, getting dirty and coming home happy. But in the last 30 years children have become increasingly alienated from the natural world. Children today have few opportunities for free play and regular contact with the natural world. A child’s loss of contact with the nature is our loss. We believe that children who play regularly in a natural environment show more advanced motor fitness, they enjoy more imaginative and creative play, they develop their powers of imagination and sense of wonderment. The natural environment stimulates social interactions and also develops independence.
Turn off the TV. It is a perfect time to do it now… Walk, run, climb, ride, slide. Play! It is all waiting for you on the other side…of your front door – Nature!
